Twelve free back to school printable coloring bookmarks featuring Bible verses to remind your kids (and we grownups!) of some important lessons from Proverbs on wise speech, a good work ethic, and the value of instruction.
The book of Proverbs in the Bible has some very practical instructions for everyday life, including school life. It is all about wisdom – how to get it and also how to apply that wisdom. It covers a broad range of topics and is better than any self-help manual! These printable bookmarks focus on three topics essential to our lives – the value of instruction, wise speech, and a good work ethic.
I have added three free sets of coloring bookmarks to the resource library which are easy enough for older children and teens, but also perfect for adults. Make your own handmade bookmarks today!
1. The value of instruction
Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge. Proverbs 23:12
The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise. Proverbs 15:31
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3
The heart of the discerning gets knowledge. The ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Proverbs 18:15
2. Develop a good work ethic
The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him. Proverbs 12:14
A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23
Go to the ant, you lazy one. Consider her ways, and be wise. Proverbs 6:6
3. Watch your speech
He who restrains his lips does wisely. Proverbs 10:19
One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret. Proverbs 11:13
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1
There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals. Proverbs 12:18
